Votes and voters

Votes count current vote units at a shop. Real votes include units cast with free and purchased credits. Voters count real accounts or sample records with a current allocation, based on the selected source. One person can have more than one real account, so a voter count does not mean one person, one vote. Moving a vote changes the current shop totals.

The map and leaderboard use the same source filter for Votes and Voters. You can show real accounts, labeled sample records, or both.

MusubiMaps also shows labeled sample votes. These records are hypothetical. They are not a survey, a real endorsement, an independent rating, or proof of a shop visit. The sample is kept separate from real accounts and purchases.

Your account and profile

Use an email address or Google account that you control. Do not impersonate another person, access another account, or interfere with the site. Keep your sign-in links private. Your display name and votes appear on your public voter profile. Your email address, balance, and payment details stay private.

Real account region details are optional and self-reported. Residents can share a broad home area. Visitors can share a broad area where they are staying in Hawaiʻi. A region appears on your public profile only if you choose to show it. Synthetic resident areas are sampled from Census-based areas; synthetic visitor areas are modeled stay areas. Regional summaries describe MusubiMaps accounts. They do not estimate all people in an area. Results are hidden when a cohort, shop numerator, or its complement has fewer than 10 accounts.

Voting credits

After verified sign-in, each real account receives one welcome credit once. This also applies to existing real accounts that have not received the welcome credit. A profile edit does not add another credit. When purchases are enabled, a $1 USD pack adds four credits to the account signed in at checkout. One credit casts one vote. Payment does not guarantee a shop's rank.

You can move votes between shops without spending more credits. To report a payment or balance problem, contact mhmotoki@gmail.com with the purchase reference. Do not send card details.
